“Police shut down a section of quaint Concord center yesterday so a crowd of several hundred could welcome the star attraction all the way from the Trentino region of Northern Italy.

The Concord Cheese Shop hosted its third annual “Crucolo Parade” to celebrate the arrival of a 400 pound wheel of Crucolo cheese with much fanfare.

“I’m very excited. I have no idea what is going to happen, but we will see. I’m a cheese girl!” said Alix Bausch, 26, an au pair from the Netherlands who wheeled her 5- and 1-year-old charges in a carriage.

This year, the Crucolo arrived on a wagon led by two massive Belgian draft horses from Maple Shade Farm in Groton as the crowd waved Italian flags. Coro Dante, a classical chorus from Cambridge that sings in Italian, followed…
