Inside the Hub

Last Saturday night the largest Christmas tree in New England lit up Faneuil Hall for the first time this year, marking the unofficial start of the holiday season in Boston. New this year is a light and sound show, Blink!, coordinated to tunes from the Holiday Pops. Blink! is set to run for the next 5 holiday seasons, livening the atmosphere of the marketplace at Christmas for several years to come.

I had the chance to see the 85-foot-tall tree light up the area surrounding the marketplace last weekend. At the time I thought it was still a week too early to start even thinking about Christmas, but now that Thanksgiving dinner has had a day or two to digest, I’m getting more and more into the holiday spirit.

Over the coming weeks there are endless Christmas festivities taking place throughout Boston that I can’t wait to experience.
