After what seemed to be an endless series of drizzly, gloomy days, the sun has finally returned.  For a while I was not even taking the camera on our walks, but on Tuesday the skies cleared and my mood lifted.


In late Fall the Park Rangers open the spillway to lower the level of the lake in order to discourage weed growth.  This exposes quite a lot of driftwood around the edges of the lake, which makes for some interesting photos.

We have not seen the swans lately, but a large flock of Canada Geese has taken up residence on the Lake.  Whether they are preparing to head South, or are spending the Winter with us, only time will tell.  It is not unusual for some of them to stick around for the Winter, but not in such large numbers.  Perhaps we are going to have another mild Winter.
